As an immigrant, (though I barely feel like it, having lived here eleven years), I've always found Dayton, (& the Miami Valley), to be a friendly city!

Short and to the point here...

#1 - a person who brings in $400k a year does not get foreclosed on unless they are living WAY beyond their means.

#2 - bankruptcy once should be embarrassing enough, but if it happens 3, 4, or 5 times? He is not learning any lessons at this point and just playing the system.

Ive worked HARD to keep my home. Its dropped from $550k to $250k. I make my payments on time. I have not missed one. My taxes are ridiculous. I have had no help (nor do I want any). Ive found ways to make $100 here or $100 there. Whatever it takes to pay my utilities and mortgage. Ive changed my living habits to save and live frugally.

Apparently, Mr Pace hasnt set any pace for himself yet like the rest of us have been forced to do.

Thank you fro your honesty, and thank you for being "real." As a member of the voting public, it is refreshing to hear someone call it as it is. Foul language or not, we are all still people, faults and all. Accept them, or lets other know what is not acceptable, but Please be honest about it.

As a house blogger myself, I originally found Gary through his house blog many years ago. Reading a bit into his background I was proud when he was elected. I have high hopes for Dayton and its mayor! My mother was born in Dayton and grew up nearby there, before moving to the west coast. I recall visiting my grandparents many times as a child and still have relatives living in the area.

All that said, Im writing because I am concerned about the RFID Convergence Center there. RFID technology appears harmless on the surface, but looking deeper into this technology I would be most worried. There are health concerns related to RFID. Large quantities of RFID tags can cause harmful radio frequency swarms. Walmart is a well known company making the move to RFID. Imagine if a developing child were standing in the mens jeans section and a Walmart worker came by, pressed a few buttons on their computer to scan the quantity of jeans, you would then have all that RF waves of hundreds of jeans going through the child.

RFID is also being used now in digital electric meters being installed in many states. Those "smart meters" send out RF data every 40 seconds (almost twice a minute). Imagine an entire city, or even an entire county sending out radio frequency swarms. On a small scale, imagine a child again (or children playing ball in an alley) standing next to an apartment complex with a hundred smart meters all sending out RF every 40 seconds. Its a scary thought.

Health concerns are important and there are other concerns about RFID such as privacy concerns too.

i would argue that many of the current regulations and systems that are in place should be required to meet the same standards.

as long as historical buildings are required to meet modern building codes that were not in place when those buildings were built, nothing will ever change, because full retrofits are prohibitively expensive.

Dear Mayor,

You have to understand the frustration surrounding this news. We voted you into office thinking that you would actually put your entire soul into this job. We have been so used to a Mayor who would do nothing but show up on TV wearing a silly hat and crazy glasses. This city is getting worse every day, with crime, school, and the economy. These people need you. You should be speaking up for them, fighting to get something done. Not working 36 hours a week, and then taking a month to fix your house. If you can't do this job then hand the reigns to someone who can. Why don't you pay a company to do that Mr. Mayor and help stimulate this down the drain economy we have?
